Carrboro
Day Philosophy, as adopted by the Carrboro Board of
Alderman on December 6, 1994-
As
Carrboro grows in population and its boundaries expand,
its citizens need opportunities to enlarge their circle
of acquaintances...
Carrboro Day will
offer an opportunity for the people to meet and celebrate
living together in Carrboro. This day will be modeled
after the small town homecomings once common in the
United States, and the festivals in Europe, which were
started for religious purposes but now have evolved
into community celebrations.....

Join neighbors
and friends to learn about and celebrate the unique
qualities that make our town special. Enjoy old Carrboro
stories and photos, poetry readings, music and dancing,
interactive field games, crafts, family activities and
more!
We know
from experience that community building pursuits result
in lasting friendships. Don't miss this once in a life
time opportunity to be part of something really special.
